Legal Research Training and Certification

This guide provides a collection of resources available from various databases to improve your legal research skills. There are plenty of opportunities to learn more and earn certifications you can use to prove your qualifications.

Introduction

Procertas empowers users of all ages and skill levels to optimize their proficiency in desktop publishing platforms like Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and PDF. They help people turn their baseline tech knowledge into marketable confidence through competency-based online learning.

Training

The Legal Technology Assessment (LTA) helps determine technology fluency for legal professionals in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF. Students who achieve Qualified or Expert level on the LTA will receive the Certified Officer of Basic Office Technology (COBOT) certificate. Law students receive an email early in the Fall semester from Procertas to activate an account.  If you are unable to find yours, reach out to the Information Technology department at lawhelpdesk@uconn.edu.
